A LIVE WORKSHOP · CEBU

How to become the freelancer clients keep, even when they're cutting everyone else.

AI isn't taking your clients. Freelancers who know how to use it are. One afternoon in Cebu to make sure you're the one they keep, not the one they cut.

IF ANY OF THIS SOUNDS FAMILIAR

You've felt it too. The ground shifting under freelancing.

A proposal you would've won a year ago now gets a reply like "we're just going to try ChatGPT for this one." No hard feelings. Just business.

A client who used to pay full rate is suddenly asking why it takes you three days, when "AI can do it in an hour." You don't have a good answer yet.

You've opened a job board, scrolled past ten listings with rates lower than what you charged two years ago, and closed the tab without applying to any of them.

And somewhere underneath all of it is the real fear: not that AI takes your work, but that another freelancer who knows how to use it takes your client.

THE INDUSTRY SHIFT

Freelancing isn't disappearing. It's splitting freelancers into two groups: replaced, or irreplaceable.

This isn't new. It's been building for years, and AI just made it impossible to ignore.

FREELANCING, 5 YEARS AGO
  • Clients paid by the hour or the task
  • Low-value, repetitive work still had a steady market
  • Being reliable and fast was often enough
  • Tools mattered less than showing up and doing the work
FREELANCING, TODAY
  • Clients pay for outcomes, not hours logged
  • Low-value tasks are quietly disappearing, absorbed by AI
  • High-value, judgment-driven work pays more than ever
  • Knowing how to prompt isn't enough. Knowing how to think with AI is

AI doesn't replace freelancers. It replaces freelancers who don't know how to use it. And it makes the ones who do even more valuable.

TRUE STORY, NO SUGARCOATING

The Friday my client's whole team got cut. Except me.

I've been freelancing for six years, and for all six of those years I've worked with the same client. This year, he asked me to help automate our workflows using AI: research, client updates, reporting. Nothing fancy at first. Just work that used to take hours, now taking minutes.

Eventually, I found ways to automate most of the work, even the hard parts. Tasks that used to take one person days, I could now do in minutes. I didn't even have to babysit them. I'd just set it running and go work on something else while it finished.

Then, just months later, the budget got tight and he had to cut deep. Within a week, everyone else on the team was gone. I was the one he kept, not by luck, but because losing me wasn't an option he was willing to take.

He told me straight: "Everyone else, I had to replace with a cheaper version of themselves. You, I couldn't replace at all. You were already doing the work of an entire team."

That's not a brag. It's the whole point of this workshop. The freelancers getting cut right now aren't the ones AI is "better than." They're the ones who never learned to make AI work for them, while somebody else quietly did.

Here's the part most people miss. Right now, knowing AI feels like an edge. But eventually, everyone will know how to use it, the same way everyone learned to use email or Canva.

When that day comes, what will be your edge?

The freelancers who already have real client experience, and pair it with AI, will always be worth more than freelancers who only have one or the other. That's exactly what we'll build toward.

This isn't an AI class. It's a job-security class that happens to use AI.

You won't leave knowing every prompt trick. You'll leave with a repeatable way to compress your own busywork, so what's left is the part clients actually pay for: your judgment, your taste, your ability to know what "good" looks like before AI does. That's the part nothing replaces.

THE SHIFT

What changes after one afternoon

BEFORE
  • Quoting by the hour, and losing bids to "we'll just use AI"
  • Watching rates in your niche quietly drop
  • Using AI here and there, with no real system behind it
  • No good answer when a client asks why they still need you
  • Wondering if you'd be the one kept, or the one let go
AFTER
  • Selling outcomes AI can't replace, and clients still paying full price
  • Charging more, because you now do the work of a small team
  • A working AI setup, built for your actual clients and work
  • A clear, confident answer, ready before they even ask
  • Knowing exactly what makes you the one clients keep
IS THIS FOR YOU

This is for you if:

You feel the ground shifting under freelancing, and you're not sure what to do about it.

You're a freelancer or VA who's lost a bid to "we'll just try ChatGPT for this one."

You want to start freelancing, but don't know where AI even fits into it.

You're confused about which AI tool to actually use, and overwhelmed seeing a new one released every week.

You already use AI tools, just not with any real system behind them.

You've wondered if you'd be the one kept, or the one let go, if your client had to cut costs tomorrow.

You want real, usable skills you can apply this week, not more theory.

You're a business owner who wants your own work done faster, without hiring more people to do it.

WHAT YOU WALK OUT WITH

One Saturday. A system you'll still be using in a year.

No fluff, no 47-slide theory deck. Just what I actually built, taught in the order that made it stick.

Your busywork, mapped

Identify the exact hours in your week AI can take off your plate, without touching the work only you can do.

A working AI setup

Leave with tools actually configured for your niche, not just a bookmarked list you'll never open.

The "can't replace me" pitch

How to talk to clients about AI before they bring it up, so it sounds like an upgrade instead of a threat.

A Monday-ready plan

Not inspiration. A written next step for your specific clients, work, and workload.

HOW THE AFTERNOON FLOWS

Exactly what happens, start to finish

No surprises. Here's the full run of the afternoon.

01

Registration & networking

Grab a coffee, settle in, and meet someone new before we start.

02

Welcome & real talk

My story: engineering background, freelancing, working with international clients, and why AI changed everything.

03

Quick introductions

Name, what you do, where you're at with freelancing, and what you're hoping to walk away with.

04

Freelancing has changed

What freelancing looked like 5 years ago, why some freelancers are losing work, and why others are charging more than ever.

05

Why context beats prompts

The biggest mindset shift: the best prompt isn't the goal. Giving AI real context about your business, voice, and work is.

06

Live AI demo

Real workflows in ChatGPT, Claude, and Canva, and how combining them turns research into a finished, published post.

07

Break

Coffee and more networking.

08

Discover your Ikigai

A guided worksheet to find where what you enjoy, what you're good at, and what clients pay for actually overlap, and use that to figure out exactly which AI platform fits your specific path.

09

Group sharing

Volunteers share what they found, and we connect it to real freelance opportunities.

10

Your action plan

One skill. One niche. One project. A concrete next step you can start building this week.

11

Q&A

Write your questions on a card anytime during the afternoon, so even quieter folks get theirs answered.

12

Closing & networking

We'll close with open networking: share what you do, the work or services you can offer, and the help you're looking for. Bring business cards to exchange.

Bonus for anyone who stays after: a free 10-15 minute one-on-one coaching session. Ask about your niche, get portfolio feedback, or talk through your own AI workflow.

Before you go, a few honest answers

Does this apply to me even if I'm not a freelancer, or haven't started yet?

Yes, it applies to everyone. Beginners, students, career switchers, working professionals thinking about going independent, current freelancers, VAs, and business owners who just want to run their own work faster and more efficiently are all welcome. The earlier you get this, the less catching up you'll have to do later.

I've never used AI tools for work. Will I be lost?

No. We start from zero and build up. If you can send a client an email, you can follow this.

What AI tools will we actually use?

I mainly use ChatGPT, Claude, Canva, and ElevenLabs in my own workflows, and that's what I'll walk you through in the live demo. I'll also point out other AI tools that might be more relevant to your specific niche, so you leave with more than just my personal stack.

Is this just a sales pitch for more paid stuff after?

No. This is one full workshop. What you learn is yours to keep, no upsell pitch waiting at the end.

What if I can't make it after I book?

Message us as early as you can. Seats are limited, so we'll do our best to work something out.

How does the free FocusLab Coworking Space pass work?

It's usable as soon as you reserve your seat, you don't have to wait until after the workshop. It's valid for 30 days and fully transferable, so if you can't use it yourself, just pass it to anyone you know who could use a quiet, focused space.

Do I need to bring a laptop?

It's optional, but highly encouraged, especially if you're already using AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude. I'll be doing a live demo and sharing the slides afterward, so you can follow along even without one, or revisit everything at home.

The freelancers who get cut this year won't be the ones AI is better than.

They'll be the ones who never learned to use it, while someone else quietly did. Let's fix that on August 1st.

Reserve Your Seat, ₱499

P.S. There's no next batch scheduled yet, and the ₱499 rate disappears the moment this window closes. If you've been waiting for a sign to finally get ahead of this, this is it.

P.P.S. Worst case, you spend one Saturday and walk away with tools and a system you'll use for years. The only way this costs you anything is by skipping it.
